Carriers Plus is far from a run of the mill operation. Every job (in some way) is a specialty job, and we approach every job in such a manner. What does the customer need, and how can we provide.

On this rebuild we upgraded to Logan Air Clutches, and installed the Bijur Lube System to eliminate ALL grease fittings.  We also installed Oil Mist Lube to provide a constant clean oil mist to the spindle bearings.  With this system all spindles are constantly receiving lubrication.  A High Volume Coolant Pump was installed as well as a High Pressure Coolant pump.  An external Hydraulic pump was also installed.

This picture is showing the Bijur Lube System installed. This lube system automatically lubricates so you are no longer dependant on manually greasing. 

Many of our customers prefer this system to Trabon.  If a single lubrication meter unit fails in the Bijur System, the rest of the system will continue to lubricate.

In this picture, we are replacing a broken stock reel spider with new, as well as installing a Lovejoy® Coupling.

Notice our replacement spider is welded and not casted.  After these spiders are welded they are bored and better than original!

Here we are performing our turning test on a model 62 that we will be rebuilding. Our turning test is more thorough than any other rebuilder.


This is the first of many very important steps that Carriers Plus performs before disassembly. The information gathered here tells us what we can do to the spindle carrier (during grinding and assembly) to increase the accuracy of the machine.

Rebuilding distributors for a New Britain 657 chucker. You can see here that we bore the housings, sleeve the housing, then the sleeve is honed to size. We have new and rebuilt distributors available.

Automatic Loader pictured. Parts are loaded into collet front. This Model 62 Bar Machine was converted into a Mechanical Chucker. The parts are loaded in the 6th position and discharged in the 5th position. Completed part cycle time on this machine was 10 seconds. We have also worked with machines to allow loading from the rear.

Grinding, fitting and repairing worn or galled slides are one of our special services. When a slide is galled, we usually undercut the entire surface. It is then spray welded, machined and then ground. On Flat Forming Slides, a plastic shim is included with each slide. The shim thickness is determined by how much we have ground off the slide. When installing slide back onto machine, this shim fits under base to putting the top of the slide on the original center line.

The Oil Mist Lube system for Spindle Bearing lubrication which completely eliminates the problem of contaminated oils lubricating your spindles by providing a constant supply of low pressure Oil Mist to the spindles at all times.

This system can prolong the life of your spindle bearings, provide cooler operating temperatures of the carrier and prevent leakage of the lube oil into the coolant through the spindles.

Installations have been done on models 60,51,52,61 and 62.
